Office of Student Activities

The Office of Student Activities is your one-stop shop for finding things to do outside of the classroom. UMass Boston GSSP students can take full advantage of discounted tickets to major events and sites of interest around Boston.

LEADers (Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy, Development)

Thinking of developing your student leadership skills and taking on a leadership role? UMass Boston GSSP has many opportunities for you to get involved! Students with a high GPA and continual involvement in international student events may apply to be an UMass Boston GSSP LEADer, which is a unique group of high-achieving students dedicated to organizing events, presenting at orientation, training Navigators and setting an example for other UMass Boston students. UMass Boston GSSP LEADers receive a monthly training workshop in leadership skills including: presenting skills, business communication methods, cross-cultural sensitivity and communication and resume and cover letter creation. This is a great supplement to any internship and future job opportunities.

Navigators

Each semester, UMass Boston GSSP seeks Navigators (student orientation leaders) to guide new students during their first week. Navigators attend a two-day leadership workshop to enhance their leadership capabilities.

On-Campus Jobs and Internships

Students interested in gaining real-world work experience could pursue an on-campus job or internship opportunity during their studies at UMass Boston. On-campus jobs and internships are usually part-time with flexible hours that can accommodate your class schedule.
